Preveza Old Town: What to Know Before You Go
Preveza’s old quarter is small, walkable and genuinely lived in. The centre of it is Seitan Pazar — a narrow lane of tavernas and ouzeri that fills up after 21:00 — with the clock tower at one end and the waterfront a couple of minutes away.

What the evening looks like
Greek dinner in Preveza starts late. Tables that look empty at 20:00 are full by 21:30. The local speciality is the sardine — Preveza is known for it across Greece — grilled and eaten with bread and ouzo rather than as a main course.
Beyond the lanes
The Venetian-era Pantokratoras fortress sits above the harbour, and the waterfront promenade runs south towards the mouth of the Amvrakikos. Both are short walks from the old quarter and neither takes a full morning.
Practical notes
- Park at the waterfront rather than trying to drive into the old town; the lanes are pedestrian in the evening.
- Supermarkets and pharmacies for the apartment are easiest to reach here rather than in the village.
