Lefkada day trip: What to Know Before You Go
Lefkada is joined to the mainland by a floating bridge just south of Aktion, which makes it the only Ionian island you can reach from the apartments without a ferry. That single fact is what makes it a realistic day trip rather than an overnight.

Where to aim for
The famous west-coast beaches — Egremni, Porto Katsiki, Kathisma — are the draw, and they are a further hour of mountain driving beyond the bridge. If you want an easier day, Nydri and the east coast are much closer and the boat trips to Skorpios and Meganisi leave from there.
Practical notes
- The floating bridge opens on the hour for boat traffic and closes to cars while it does. Build the wait into your timing.
- Leave early. The west-coast beach car parks are full well before midday in August.
